Grandma Violet's Beans

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 pound bacon chopped
  • 1 pound hamburger
  • 1 large Onion chopped
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp vinegar
  • 1 15oz canned kidney beans drained, reserving liquid
  • 1 15oz can butter beans drained, reserving liquid
  • 1 16oz can Pork & Beans

Instructions
 

  • Brown the bacon in a large skillet. Add the hamburger and onion and brown, breaking the hamburger into small bits.
  • When hamburger is browned, pour off excess fat. Add the ketchup, brown sugar vinegar and Pork & Beans. Stir to combine.
  • Add the butter beans and kidney beans and stir to mix well. Use reserved liquid from drained beans to keep mixture from sticking.
  • Bring to a boil, then cover reducing heat to simmer and cook for 20-30 minutes. Add more liquid from drained beans if needed.
